Outpatient services at Texas Children¿s Pavilion for Women are now open, including OB/GYN services and Texas Children¿s Maternal and Fetal Center. Birthing services will begin in spring, 2012. Expanding upon its world-class reputation in fetal and neonatal medicine, Texas Children¿s Pavilion for Women will offer a full continuum of family-centered maternity care, beginning before conception and continuing after delivery. Position Summary

Position Summary

Overview:
This role will manage the Gynecologic and Obstetric critical care patient in the Critical Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:
Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations. Performs delegated therapeutic procedures, develops and implements patient care management plans. Orders and interprets tests, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures. Systematically compares and contrasts clinical findings in formulating differential diagnosis. Consults with other health care team members as necessary.

Knowledge and Skills:
Possesses technical skills to meet individual critical care patient and procedural needs. The ability to utilize and operate hospital information computer systems.

Formal Education and Experience
The formal education and experience required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is:
A Master of Science degree in Nursing with a specialty as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Current RN licensure in the State of Texas; Full authorization to practice as an APRN in the State of Texas; Current certification by a national certifying body within the specialty recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing. Current ACLS required. 2 years of experience in the applied specialty.
